Some finals expected, though this is dependent on how often the cat is shown and against what competition. Breeder/show: Qualities valuable to a breeding program with show potential. Showable alter: Show potential. Purchaser agrees to a Neuter/Spay Agreement. Pet: Companion animal only. Purchaser agrees to a Neuter/Spay Agreement and will not show or breed the cat. The breeder guarantees that cats/kittens sold for show and breeding are free from genetic defects and sterility. If a cat/kitten sold for breeding purposed proves to be sterile or is unable to reproduce at least one viable litter of two kittens after being mated to two or more proven studs or queens Breeder shall replace the cat with another of like quality and value as soon as possible. If the buyer chooses not to take a replacement cat the breeder will refund 50% of the original purchase price and the original breeding cat will be altered. Cats sold with breeding rights will only be bred with another registered pedigreed Maine Coon. Breeder and buyer agree to the purchase and sale of the described animal for a purchase price of $_____ according to the terms and conditions of this sales agreement. Delivery shall be completed after the cat/kitten is at least 10 weeks of age, delivery at breeder’s cattery unless otherwise agreed. Breeder will ship cats/kittens that are at least 16 weeks of age in a suitable container at buyer’s expense. Registration: Registration shall be provided at delivery or as soon afterwards as possible. Registration will be with the Cat Fanciers Association (CFA). Health guarantee and conditions: Breeder guarantees this cat is in good health at the time of purchase. This cat was examined by a licensed veterinarian on _______ and no signs of contagious illness or defect was found. Breeder guarantees the health of this cat for 10 days. THE CAT/KITTEN MUST BE EXAMINED BY A LICENSED VETERINARIAN OF THE BUYER’S CHOICE WITHIN 5 DAYS OF DELIVERY, EXCLUDING WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS, OR THIS HEALTH GUARNATEE IS NULL AND VOID. Should the buyer’s veterinarian find illness and certify in writing that such illness was contracted prior to the cat’s purchase the breeder will refund the purchase price of the cat upon the return of the animal to the breeder or replace the cat with another of equal value at the option of the buyer. After the expiration of the 10 day guarantee period the breeder will replace the cat with another of equal value should the cat die within 6 months of purchase a result of a hereditary or genetically caused illness and such illness is confirmed by a post-mortem performed by a licensed veterinarian and the results provided in writing to the breeder. This guarantee is null and void if the FIP vaccine is administered to the cat. The breeder will not be liable for any amount exceeding the purchase price of the cat. Breeder’s cattery is negative for FIP and feline leukemia. Prior to delivery the cat has received immunizations for feline enteritis, rhinotracheitis and calicivirus as recorded on the immunization record provided at delivery. If cat is sold as a pet or showable alter buyer agrees to provide for surgical alteration by the age of 8 months. Return of Cat/Transfer of Cat: The future use of cats from breeder’s cattery, particularly those sold for breeding or show purposes, affects the reputation of the breeder and the breeder’s cattery. This sale is to buyer only. Buyer agrees not to sell, give, or otherwise transfer cat to any other person or entity, and agrees to contact breeder if unable or unwilling to keep cat. Breeder shall have the option of repurchasing cat at the terms shown below or assisting in the placement of cat in a new home. If returned within 14 days, 100% of the purchase price; 15- 30days, 90% refunded; 31-60 days, 50% refunded; 61-90 days, 25% refunded; after 90 days, $50.00 refunded. The above repurchase prices are subject to reduction by any FeLV testing, shipping or veterinary costs incurred by breeder for cat. If cat is placed in a new home the new buyer, recipient or transferee must agree to be subject to the terms and conditions of this agreement and a signed copy shall be provided to breeder. Additional Agreements: This cat will be kept clean, healthy and free from parasites. The cat will not be allowed to run free outside the home except on leash under supervision or in an enclosed and covered area. The cat will not be sold or transferred except as provided above. The cat will be fed a nutritionally adequate diet and have fresh water available at all times. Other Agreements: Should buyer file to comply with the terms of this agreement the breeder shall have the right to reclaim the cat and buyer shall waive any right, title or interest in the cat, including signing the CFA registration slip returning cat to breeder. The buyer shall be responsible for any and all costs incurred by breeder reclaiming cat, including but not limited to shipping, veterinary costs, FeLV testing and legal fees. Changes or additions to this agreement shall be initialed by both parties. I/we have read and understood, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this sales agreement. I/we consider this agreement to be legally binding.
